MSS SP-75 Product Overview :
MSS SP 75 is the standard specification for high-test, wrought, butt-welding
fittings used in high-pressure oil and gas transmission and
distribution systems. It covers factory-made seamless and electric
fusion-welded carbon and low-alloy steel butt-welding pipe fittings. These fittings are commonly used in various applications,
including pipelines, compressor stations, metering and regulating
stations, and mains.
Minimum yield strength is an important characteristic of these
fittings, and MSS SP 75 categorizes them into seven classes based on their minimum yield
strength. The classes are WPHY-42, WPHY-46, WPHY-52, WPHY-56,
WPHY-60, WPHY-65, and WPHY-70. The "WP" abbreviation stands for
"wrought pipe" or "wrought plate," while "HY" represents "high
yield."
MSS SP 75 fittings are available in various types, including long-radius elbows, 3R
elbows (short-radius elbows), straight tees, reducing tees, caps,
and reducers. These fittings are commonly used in conjunction with
API 5L pipes or ASTM A694 forged pipe flanges.
